WHO AM I?

My name is Suong, originally I came from VietNam, but now I live in the small city of  Genk in Belgium with my soulmate, that’s my husband for more than 20 years.

I've been a photographer for more than 6 years but as far back as I can remember, I got my first Kodak camera from my parents after I graduated from high school. Since then my love for photography has just grown each second of the day.

Beside that, I have always been fascinated with design and working with my hands. As a little girl I  loved to “help” the family with certain renovation projects.

But my parents were always afraid that I would get hurt or that I would break things  in the house. My uncle, chu Tuan, on the other hand,  would always allow me to do everything: “You will learn from your mistakes”, he used to say to me!

I've always had a heart for leather, so I learned to make things for my daily carrying and through the time I've become more and more obsessed with how something simple could turn out to be so beautiful.

And La Vietnamita was born from the desire to create and design. Whether it's on a day photoshoot, a quick photo walk or a daily trip, I believe everyone should be able to carry their equipment and goods in a joyful and practical way. I crafted my products to fit your lifestyle and they are made to last. 

All of my goods are crafted by a single craftsman. Each product is 100 % Handcrafted. I make things the way I made them for myself for daily use. I want to make things that will prove to be sustainable for your journey ahead.

Life doesn't always have to be this or that, it can be both. A passionate photographer and a creative designer. Why not?
